* Not younger. Children under age 8 do not have the skills needed yet to succeed at the basic & important techniques taught in this class. They can be frustrated, plus it makes it difficult for the instructor to proceed with others (8 & older) when
someone too young is not accomplishing the first skills taught
which are the basis of everything else in the yo-yo class.

Learn yo-yo techniques, power throw, custom fitting, maintenance tips,
when & how to change the string, and 5-10 CLASSIC yo-yo tricks! Depending on the group:
tricks introduced may include gravity gripper, sleeper, forward pass,
walk-the-dog, rock-the baby, ice cream cone, and others.

Building doors open just 10 minutes before class. Sorry, we do not have a waiting area for parents/grandparents. You are invited to take the class, too, for the fee and make it a learning outing together for you & the student! We even have classes that just adults, too.

Class is for ages 8-108, though not younger.
AND
learn yo-yo techniques, power throw, custom fitting, maintenance tips,
when & how to change the string, and 5-10 CLASSIC yo-yo tricks! Depending
on the group: tricks introducedmay include gravity gripper, sleeper,
forward pass, hop-the-fence, the slapper, breakaway, around-the-world, walk-the-dog, rock-the baby, ice cream cone, star, elevator and the creeper.
Coaching,
individual help and encouragement for individuals are part of the
class. Learn a few tips about being in a contest, too.
The
instructor has appeared on national Television, yo-yoed with the
Smothers Brothers, taught thousands to yo-yo, placed in contests,
conducted contests, is the director of the annual Yo-Yo & Skill Toys Convention and has been featured in magazines and newspapers.
Doors
for classes open just 10 minutes prior to class time. For students
taking the class: parents should come in to meet the instructor and to sign
permission, etc. Parents may take the class, too, by paying the same fee, too. Any adults may take the class, also. There is no waiting place here during the class, so parents shop downtown Burlington or go have coffee, etc. Adult groups, family groups, kids groups may also schedule a time for their group.
For family members or drivers not taking the class, there are many things to enjoy downtown historic Burlington, WI:
restaurants, coffee shops, bakery, fashion clothing resale shop, custard stand, ice cream shop, 3 museums! and a great city library and a beautiful park
(with lake, waterfall, Wisconsin Historical Marker), a river walkway, another park with a vintage and legacy garden, a local movie theater and a famous
custard stand! (open seasonal.) And a Lincoln statue installed in 1913 (5.5 blocks.)
Parking is free on the street for 2 hours. Free all day parking in city parking lots.
(Two-hour yo-yo classes may be arranged for additional fees.)
AND THIS IS GREAT FUN, TOO! *SPECIAL OLD-FASHION TOP SPINNING CLASS see times on web page or set up a class by appointment for groups of 6-8 people. Class includes professional instruction and a $10 great wood, classic top/metal tip and string/button to keep. Instructor has appeared on Ripley's Believe It or Not TV with these tops, taught the movie stars how to spin tops on an MGM film (My Summer Story), is the Top Spinner for the MGM movie, and taught the kid stars on the TV show Fudge, too!

One Class! Peg Top Spinning & Kendama!
TBA or arrange your own time for 3-5 people. Fun skill toys! ages 8-108. $48/person, cash. Get $25 of skill toys to keep! A great wood competition size
kendama and a classic wood peg top with string & button. Learn 4 kendama tricks and then learn how to throw and spin a
peg skill top like the movie starts. Instructor is the Tops Expert who taught
movie stars to spin tops on a movie set, and is the spinner for scenes in an

Yo-yo classes and top spinning classes are great for birthday parties, family outings, a Scout troop activity, mystery tours, church groups, homeschooling groups, and other groups. Large groups sessions can be offered also.
